I have enjoyed and, more importantly, grown and learned from Dr. Dobson’s wisdom and teaching for many years. From the time we first got married, then having children and discipling them as they grew, I have appreciated JDFI and all its resources to help guide our steps in building and growing our family. Dr. Dobson will be sorely missed. I am so grateful for his impact on our country and culture, and for boldly speaking truth in a wayward world.

Working at Focus on the Family back in the early 1990s changed my life and my family’s life forever. Dr. Dobson’s life work provided the guidance I needed to follow Jesus Christ more fully. It’s difficult to express with words how much God used Dr. Dobson to help mold me, shape my ideals, and bring healing to so many broken places. Today my husband and eight children continue to reap the immense benefits of the labor he sowed. I’m sorry for your loss and will pray for the comfort that only God can give.

I was just listening to some of Dr. Dobson’s past audio clips – particularly the interviews with the mothers of strong-willed children! My children were spared a broken spirit (but a shaping of the will) and are also well-behaved (for the most part) because of the Holy Spirit and Dr. Dobson. As a budding psychologist, I have hope in the field because of him. What an amazing legacy.

Where do I start? As a young father in the early 1980s, I prayed to Jesus for wisdom and knowledge. With Dr. Dobson’s books that we read, the many hours listening to his daily radio programs, and the many family trips listening to Adventures in Odyssey, we learned Bible principles Dr. Dobson taught. Because of Dr. Dobson’s ministry, my wife and I were able to raise three children who are all living for God and are pastors or pastors’ wives. We also have 11 grandchildren who are living for Jesus. Thank you, Dr. Dobson, for your faithfulness and dedication to helping families. You may not be with us physically, but the positive effect you’ve had on families all over the world will continue for many years. In memory, Mike Saindon

Dr. Dobson was always the person I wished I could sit beside on a plane and just talk. I’ve listened and learned from him since the ’70s and can never fully express how much he influenced my life. I’ll be praying for Shirley as she navigates her “new normal” in the coming months and years. Theirs was a true love story.

Dr. Dobson was one of my heroes, even though I never met him. I learned so much while listening to his radio broadcasts over the years. What an impact he has made for the Lord through his words, his work, his strong and unwaivering faith, and his courage to stand up for what is right and good in the eyes of our God! My heart is heavy, and my eyes are teary as if a close friend just passed. But you are now standing in the presence of your Lord and Savior, Dr. Dobson. Well done! Well done!

I spent a large part of my adult life listening to the words of Dr. Dobson. His wisdom, emanating from God through him, gave me strength in many hours of dark times when I thought myself unworthy of drawing breath. While we mourn his passing, we know where he is now and rejoice with the saints in heaven at his arrival there. His legacy will live on with those of us he touched and those who continue to listen to his words. I am positive he has heard those beautiful words from the Savior, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

No other man outside of my own family has influenced my life as Dr. James Dobson. I was raised by a beautiful young mother who was 16 years old at my birth. She was not a Christian nor raised in a Christian home. She accepted Christ and found Dr. Dobson on the radio in the early ’80s. That single event changed the destiny of our family. I am now a mother of four children of my own, and Dr. Dobson’s books, his teachings, and his spirit have shaped my home. I messaged my husband this morning when I heard of Dr. Dobson’s passing into Heaven and said how lovely to think that he will live on in so many, including us. Whatever we and our children do for the kingdom, he will receive rewards for that. His crowns will continue to grow because of his investment in my family. I will truly be eternally grateful for the life and ministry of Dr. Dobson. I can’t wait to meet him in person when I get to Heaven. Until then, my prayers for his lovely family, and may the Lord bless his memory for generations to come.
