In 1977, I was a young Christian and had just become a mother of a baby girl. I had no clue what to do. I had come from an abusive home growing up and DID NOT WANT that for my daughter! Dr. Dobson had such an impact on my life. I listened to him on the radio daily and read his books - and that was hard for me because I’m not a reader. Knowing of Dr. Dobson has made such a difference in my life and how we raised our child. Our daughter, Ginger, is a PA in Neurology and has a son. I’m 72 years old now, but I share my experiences with the “younger” generations with children and encourage them to get Dr. Dobson’s books. I’ve even bought some and given them to families I thought would find them helpful. It saddened me when I heard of his passing, but I do rejoice that he is certainly in a better place with our Lord and Savior. Dr. Dobson had a profound impact on my life, and I will be forever grateful for that.
PreviousI have been listening to Dr. James Dobson for many years, dating back to the early 70s when I found myself pregnant at the age of 16. He helped me to make the right decision of keeping my daughter and trying my best to raise her in a godly way. I would listen to Dr. Dobson on the radio as I would drive to work and would always find godly counsel about how to raise a family and to survive in an ever-changing world. My favorite book of his was "The Strong-Willed Child," because that is exactly what I had. Thank you, Dr. Dobson! I know that God is smiling on all of his time on earth bringing hope and encouragement and introducing God into the lives of so many people. I will miss his voice, but I know that his work will go on as planned.
