I would consider myself a somewhat newer listener to Dr. Dobson (although, I know my family listened to him when I was younger). I have only been a mama for 5 years. I read the book Bringing Up Boys to prepare for both of my children. I appreciated his wisdom and wit. I will continue to read his works and listen to old broadcasts as I raise my little family in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Thank the Lord for men like Dr. Dobson. He leaves some huge shoes to fill. I pray my generation will stand up for the family as boldly as he did.
PreviousIn 1989, I was a counselor at the Billy Graham Crusade in Cleveland Ohio. I was working out in the hotel where our family was staying. I was having a hard time getting my treadmill to work when a very nice middle-aged man helped me. We worked out next to each other and had a wonderful conversation about our families and life experiences. As we finished, he asked why l was in Cleveland. I told him I was a counselor at the crusade. He replied that he, too, was there for the crusade. It was then l realized that l had just had a 45-minute conversation with with one of my Christian heroes. I will never forget my time with Dr. Dobson. We are praying for the family.
