I was blessed to be part of the formation of the Louisiana Family Forum, one of Dr. Dobson's early Family Policy Councils. His wisdom in building an organization enabled us to establish a firm foundation that remains today. He set high standards that were not to be compromised. The extensive vetting process for guests of Focus and now Family Talk were daunting but ensured words of advice that came from guests could be trusted. I have always admired his commitment to excellence in his personal and professional life. My hope and prayer is that the life he lived, the choices he made, the courage with which he spoke Truth, and the grace he freely gave to his critics, will be emulated by those of us who follow in his footsteps of ministry. His bold words poured forth from a heart filled with the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which he wanted the world to know and love.
PreviousIt was Dr. Dobson’s voice, who I first heard over the radio, invite me (a lost sinner) into a saving faith in Jesus Christ. God used this man to speak truth in a way that I would finally listen and surrender. His life emulated a faithful follower of Jesus which is why he is still ministering to families today. It is up to us (believers in and followers of Jesus) to tell the next generation “that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments” (Psalm 78:6-7). Grateful to God for how He used Dr. Dobson in my life and in the lives of so many.
