Dr. Dobson will always have a special place in my family. I remember hearing and knowing about him when I was growing up. My mom gave me his book, Preparing for Adolescence, when I was a young adult, and it helped me so much during my teenage years. Now as an adult, I have read several of his books and applied his wisdom in the process of raising my own children. I have also given my teenage kids Preparing for Adolescence to read, and I know it has helped them too. My heart is sad to know that Dr. Dobson is no longer with us. Even though I never met him in person, he was always my go-to person when I needed advice or guidance for raising my children, for my marriage, or for any family question I had - even more now that my parents are gone too. I will miss him very much. It’s hard when the people that support your values, morals, and beliefs leave us. But I know he is with the Lord, enjoying heaven, and I’m pretty sure he will be interceding for all of us. My prayers for his wife, Shirley, and their kids and family during this time of mourning. Thank you, Dr. Dobson, for giving your life to God and for everything you did for all of us in this world.
PreviousAs a former State Director of Concerned Women for America of Kansas, I relied on Dr. Dobson for accurate and timely information about issues concerning the family. I listened to Focus on the Family for years and appreciated his courage to stand for family values in the midst of an atmosphere of “anything goes.” I am sure he is hearing “Well-done, good and faithful servant” in heaven right now. A life well-lived!
